Extended Families Australia, an incorporated Association operating in Melbourne for 30 years. Until 2003, this organisation was known as the Foster Grandparent Scheme. Extended families provides support to the families of children with a range of special needs by matching them with a volunteer who spends time with the child on a regular basis, providing companionship, support and practical assistance. Most Extended Families Australia volunteers, children and families develop lasting friendships
