F.I.D.A (Football Integration Development Australia

I would like to inform you all on some exciting news that has been developing. Over recent
months F.I.D.A (Football Integration Development Association) and Lower Plenty
Football club has been working closely together for the prospect of starting up a team
in the North-east region for people with an intellectual disability. FIDA currently run an
organized competition league in Victoria with teams based all over the state, however
as yet there have been no teams in this area.

Lower Plenty Football Club is very keen to get the ball rolling and see how many people
would be interested in playing Football in a proper competition. The team would be
graded on ability, and as it is the first year would most likely be in the lowest division
which is 3rd division. Trainings would be on a weekly basis for an hour, held on Fridays
at the Lower Plenty Football Club’s home ground at 6:30pm , with football matches
played fortnightly on the Saturday.

The season would not begin till April, and teams are playing for points however done so in a generous spirit. Registration will cost $100 for the season, this includes uniform which is supplied by Lower Plenty however the men will have to purchase their own football boots.

All players must be aged between 15-40 years old and have an intellectual disability.

This is a great opportunity for an individual to get involved in a sporting team and become
a part of the local community down at Lower Plenty Bears. Each individual will be
able to meet new people, learn the rules of AFL football, play in a competitive football
game, be part of a team, and learn new skills. Araluen fully supports Lower Plenty
Football Club who is offering this opportunity to the men in this area who just want to
play footy.

If you are interested in playing can you please email Grant Barden ASAP at
